Self-Sovereign Identity
In this note, we will introduce the concept of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), which has the potential to change the conventional method of managing personal information using IDs and passwords. This new management method may be utilized in future digital services. The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) is currently working on standardization efforts centered around decentralized identifiers (DIDs), which are used in Decentralized ID. The DIF (Decentralized Identity Foundation) is also actively discussing the development of an ecosystem for the utilization of DIDs.
